Vitamin E and The Body

Vitamin E is an antioxidant, meaning it helps to protect cells from damage caused by unstable molecules known as free radicals. It also helps the body to use vitamin K and is involved in making red blood cells. Vitamin E plays an important role in supporting a healthy immune system and protecting the body from damaging inflammation.

Vitamin E also contributes to maintaining healthy skin, eyes, kidneys, and liver. It is important for normal reproductive health, and may even have a role in slowing aging, cognitive deterioration, and Alzheimer's disease.

Vitamin E is found in a wide range of foods, including olive oil, almonds, hazelnuts, peanuts, pecans, creamy peanut butter, sunflower seeds, and green leafy vegetables; cooked spinach, and swiss chard. California avocados are an excellent source of Vitamin E.
